Birth And Postnatal Doula Based In Buckinghamshire
My name is Sophie (she/her) and I am a Birth and Postnatal Doula in Buckinghamshire. My role is to support every mother/birthing person with calm positivity, helping you feel nurtured, prepared, informed, empowered and listened to throughout your pregnancy and labour.
As a Postnatal Doula I will help you in those first days and weeks of parenthood to find your feet and to grow in confidence. Supporting you in your new role I will listen with a gentle, non-judgemental ear over a cup of tea, cook a meal, hold a baby…or hold a parent, as I know the postnatal period can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you need emotional or practical support, or both, we can work together so you (and your family) get the maximum benefits.
I’m also a Norland Nanny with 26 years experience and have worked with many families from birth. I can offer payment plans to spread the cost of my support. Please get in touch and let me know how I can help you.
If you have Carrot as your insurance provider I am pre approved for birth and postnatal support.
During the Covid 19 pandemic I started working in partnership with my colleague, Eleanor Fowler, to ensure that whatever circumstances arose no client would be left without support.
Since then, Els and I have continued to work in partnership and we offer all clients the benefit of having us both, giving you the best possible support and preparation for your birth and immediately afterwards. Although you may have envisaged one doula supporting you, we, and our clients, have found that shared care works even better, as you have the advantage of the skills and experience of two doulas for the price of hiring one. You benefit from having access to hypnobirthing preparation, breastfeeding support and postnatal support which I may not be available for on my own, and between us we can pretty much guarantee 24/7 support when you need it most.
We are very similar in approach, personality and support style but if you have a particular affinity for one of us we will of course do our best to ensure that person is your main point of contact. All birth preparation sessions are done jointly, one doula will attend your birth, and we are both available for postnatal and overnight support. If you are birthing in hospital and need someone to stay at home with your other children we can help with that. It’s one of the benefits of a doula partnership.
If you have any questions or queries about my services and how I can help you, please do not hesitate to ask.
